When I was 16, I got my first taste of that sweet Mary Jane in high school and it became my drug of choice because I wasn't a fan of alcohol. It gave me a sense of relaxation that I didn't previously have, and it made me a much better person. While the stereotype says that cannabis makes you lazy, I was very active and it helped me recover after a workout (only later I found out its beneficial because its anti-inflammatory).

As I got older, I got more into the game and got introduced to vaporizers. I did try bongs before but I just hated the high. It made me feel like a bum and I'd be burnt out within 20 minutes. But vaporizers were on a whole different level. They made me relaxed than ever before, and I wasn't ingesting toxic paper and glue from joints.

But there was still room for improvement in terms of health. Because after all, you're still smoking plant matter and that's not necessarily the best for your lungs, even though marijuana was proven to have minimal lung health effects.

I was then introduced to BHO (butane honey oil) and oh my goodness is this thing revolutionary. You essentially extract the oil from your flower and smoke it through the use of a dab rig. Now this is healthier. This was a relatively new scene at the time so I remember a friend of mine had a BHO vacuum purge kit and this thing was an interesting contraption that looked very homemade but cool. Nowadays they're a little more sophisticated.

After that, I got introduced to closed loop extractors and that's just scientific. There's nothing like it. But if you've never tried BHO, I definitely recommend trying it for a more healthier high but, fair warning, it's a very strong concoction and it could put you on your butt for a long time. Believe me, I've seen it happen.

And like all things in life, everything in moderation. I don't smoke more than 2-3 times a week and I use it for medicinal purposes. As much as I am a proponent for its benefits, it does have its negatives that are not to be ignored.

What Stoners are talking about, when they talk about dabbing Wax, BHO, Live Resin?

As a member of some pretty interesting groups on Facebook, stoner groups’ so-to-speak, I’ve been noticing a new trend recently. Everybody who is anybody is talking about ‘dabbing.’

Here’s the Marijuana Facebook  groups:

Dabbing? I asked myself. What the hell is dabbing? I decided to do some research on the matter and share with you what I learnt about dabbing and how it officially became my new favorite pass time.

To summarize, dabbing is the smoking of highly concentrated marijuana. We’re talking 25-90% THC marijuana concentrate! Given the fact that plant generally contains 10-25% THC, you can understand what all the hype is about.

Cannabis concentrates are created by processing marijuana buds through an extraction process. I won’t go into the details, but let’s just say it involves chemically extracting the good stuff from the plant. This extraction process minimizes overall plant matter, while maximizing the potency and therapeutic value. The type of extraction process used CO2, BHO Purge or Closed loop system (and how well it’s performed) will determine the quality, color, and texture of the final product.

I’d read that many cannabis connoisseurs are choosing concentrates as their new preferred smoking experience for its unique flavor and boosted effects, and that dabbing wax, shatter, Live resin, or oil offers an enhanced smoking experience compared to smoking a regular pipe or bong.

Curious to see what all the fuss was about, I decided to try some for myself. It was slightly more expensive than regular bud, but I was told I wouldn’t need so much.

Two or three hits later… I forgot what I was doing.

Damn, that shit was good.
